Hello,

Today, I'm happy to present you the Debian package prelude-nids, which
is part of the net section, and maintained by Mickael Profeta
<profeta at debian.org>. 

This package contains : Hybrid Intrusion Detection System [ Network
sensor ].

Prelude is a general-purpose hybrid intrusion detection system.
Its goals are performance and modularity. It is divided in several
parts :
 - The Prelude NIDS sensor, responsible for real time packet capture
   and analysis, featuring a signature engine, plugins for protocol
   analysis, and intrusion detection plugins.
 - The Prelude report server, collecting data from Prelude sensors,
   and generating user-readable reports.

This package contains the Prelude Network Intrusion Detection Sensor.
